UFC fighter Andre Ewell (17-6)
MMA fighters are savages. They are the best athletes on the planet earth, however, they are also human and enjoy things just like you and me.
Andre “Mr. Highlight” Ewell has his nickname for a reason. He has eight first-round finishes and five of those in less than 55 seconds. To say Ewell is must-see TV is an understatement. His striking is eye-candy, very, very fun to watch.
Ewell’s career in the UFC has been fun to watch. He has been fighting top-level competition since his first fight in the organization. His promotional debut was against former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao. Ewell won via unanimous decision.
“Mr. Highlight” had a good 2020. He kicked off the year in February at UFC 247 in a winning effort against a tough contender Jonathan Martinez. After the fight, he took some time off to heal injuries.
Ewell returned in September to defeat Irwin Rivera at UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Covington. He won via a split decision.
Ewell kicks off his year with a shot to get in the UFC bantamweight top 15. He fights No. 13 ranked Cody Stamann at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Volkov.
When asked what a win would do for him, Ewell said, “I want to be called ‘Number 13.’ That’s gonna be my new name after I beat him. I’m gonna be called ‘Number 13.’”
