UFC 240 main card predictions

UFC 240 is going down this Saturday, July 27th, 2019. This will be the second pay-per-view card in July which is a rare occurrence. The UFC is coming off one of the best pay-per-views of the year with UFC 239.

In all honestly, UFC 240 looks like a weak card on paper. The main event is worth the $60 but I’m not so sure the rest of the card is. With all that put aside here are my main card predictions.

Featherweight Championship (145 lbs)

Max Holloway vs. Frankie Edgar

This fight has been scheduled three times before, so I am excited it is finally happening. Max Holloway is the best featherweight of all time, with all do respect to Jose Aldo. I think Holloway will win via fourth round TKO or a unanimous decision. I have a side of me that wants to see Edgar win so he can join the club of a two-division champ.

Cris Cyborg vs. Felicia Spencer

Cris Cyborg is finally fighting again after being knocked out by Amanda Nunes and suffering her first loss in a decade. I do think Cyborg will win via first found TKO. I am pulling for Felicia Spencer to upset Cyborg, but the chances are slim.

Geoff Neal vs. Niko Price

This is a very interesting fight with two great prospects. Niko Price is a knockout artist while Geoff Neal is the better technical mix martial artist. I predict Price via KO in the second round.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Arman Tsarukyan

This will probably be the most boring fight of the night unfortunately. Oliver Aubin-Mercer is fighting in his home country, so he has that on his side. I will predict Mercier via unanimous decision.

Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Krzysztof Jotko

This could be another boring fight, but I am hoping it will be a stand-up war. I predict Jotko by split decision.

Like I said, not the most entertaining card of the year but the main event will be worth the buy and watch. I hope I am completely wrong with the first two fights on the card.

Enjoy the fights!
